Unique Rustic Props for Brand New Baby Boy in Iowa | Huxley {newborn}

As many of you know, I’m working on updating my blog and cleaning out old files from my computer.  Since tomorrow is March 4th I’m going to go ahead and share Mr. Huxley.  It was with lots of sadness that this little baby’s grandpa passed away on March 4th before he could meet him on August 4th.  This grandpa is also my older boys’ grandpa and it’s been a big adjustment without him around.  He passed away on March 4th, which we’ve converted to ‘March Fourth’….as in carry on, keep living and be strong.  And in our house, ‘don’t ever, ever forget Grandpa’.  My boys were lucky to have him in their lives for 10 and 7 years, but it still breaks my heart that he was taken from them so soon.  They would’ve enjoyed each other so much as they grow older.  We will do everything we can to help this little guy know the kind of man his grandpa was and make sure he hears all the good stories.  4 is the number. And life is certainly precious.

Pretty Backlit Fall Photography in Carroll, Iowa | Irlmeier {family}

Happy Monday!  Can you believe it’s March already??  I’m excited to see a light at the end of the tunnel with saying goodbye to winter.  Spring can’t be too far off….welllll I guess it can be since we ARE in Iowa…..but here’s to hoping that we are not still getting snow in May like last year! I can’t wait to get back outside to shoot on those beautiful sunny evenings like the session I’m posting today.  This was already two years ago (I’m SO bad at updating my blog!} so I know these girls have grown even bigger and probably that much more adorable.  They were full of character and it was so fun working with this whole group.  We were able to capture everyone together and then the individual couples/families too.  Another thing I love about this session is how we got the grandparents alone with the grandkids.  Such a special relationship that doesn’t always get attention the attention it deserves when doing family pictures.

Heartwarming Military & More Adorable Poses, Jefferson Iowa | Zoey {newborn}

Zoey was super sweet for her newborn session!  Mom and Dad both came along and she slept like an angel.  Dad brought his army uniform and I was able to capture her in his arms.  It’s my favorite shot from this session….there’s just something special about babies posed with their parent’s military items.  So much pride in serving their country, and so much pride in their families too.
